Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut launched a scathing critique of Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday, sarcastically suggesting that the PM should head a Tourism Ministry given his frequent foreign visits, and accused the government of neglecting pressing domestic issues.
“PM Modi is always on tour. He should have a tour and travel ministry and appoint country tourism ambassadors. He can use Mann Ki Baat to tell people what to eat in which country,” Raut told reporters.
Raut also took aim at the Modi government’s foreign policy, citing Pakistan’s recent elevation at the United Nations as evidence of diplomatic failure.
“Since Modi, [External Affairs Minister] Jaishankar, and [Home Minister] Amit Shah took charge, India has failed to counter Pakistan’s narrative. Today, Pakistan has secured an important post at the UN, and their Army Chief was invited to dinner at the White House,” Raut claimed.
The Shiv Sena MP accused the Centre of ignoring major domestic crises, including farmer suicides in Maharashtra, recent terror attacks, and aviation mishaps.
“Does Modi Ji know that 1,000 farmers have committed suicide in Maharashtra in the past three months? They haven’t found the perpetrators behind the Pahalgam attack, Air India is collapsing, and they don’t even know the cause of the Ahmedabad plane crash—yet Modi Ji is abroad,” Raut stated.
Commenting on the RSS-BJP relationship, Raut said, “RSS and BJP are like brothers. If RSS wants, it can teach BJP a lesson. Today’s BJP is built on the foundation laid by RSS workers.”
He also urged Prime Minister Modi to question former US President Donald Trump over his policy shift towards Pakistan, which Raut believes poses a future threat to India.
“PM Modi should ask Trump what kind of drama he is doing with India. No one at the UN is defending India’s position. Trump empowering Pakistan is dangerous for India,” Raut concluded.
